Here's how we made Dalgona Coffee aka Quarantine Coffee at home.

If you are a coffee lover (like us) and love to make quick recipes then you must definitely try out the Dalgona Coffee. The best part about it is that you only need three ingredients which are Sugar, Instant Coffee and Milk.  All these items are easily available at home which means you don’t have to step out to the grocery store.

Why Dalgona Coffee?

We gave into the trend. GUILTY. It was all over the internet. Dalgona coffee was viral on TikTok, trending on Twitter and blowing up on our IG feed. The best part about it is tastes good  & looks pretty. Making this is probably tone of the best ways to spend some time while you’re at home during the Covid -19 Pandemic.

What is Dalgona Coffee?

Dalgona coffee is basically the plain old 'Phenti Hui' coffee we have been making at home for years. It’s called dalgona because the fluffy creamy coffee looks like dalgona candy, a candy from South Korea that’s just like honeycomb toffee or sponge toffee. 

Where did Dalgona coffee come from?

Dalgona coffee originates from South Korea where it started trending during this social distancing/Isolation period. It is also known as quarantine drink or quarantine coffee.  Everyone is stuck at home and Instagraming their daily lives and dalgona coffee caught on, probably because you don’t need much to make it and it’s really cute.

Ingredients:

• 2 tbsp instant coffee
• 2 tbsp Sugar
• 2 tbsp hot water
• 2 glasses milk with ice cubes

Steps:

1) Bring a small pot of water to a boil.

2) While the water’s coming to a boil, make the dalgona coffee fluff. In a bowl, mix together the instant coffee and sugar.

 3) Once the water comes to a boil, carefully add 2 tablespoons of the hot water to the coffee sugar mix and whisk or use a hand mixer to whip until light and frothy. (If you’re using your arm muscle then mix it for minimum 15 minutes).

4) Fill two glasses with ice and pour in the milk.

5) Top the glasses with equal amounts of the fluffy coffee. Stir thoroughly before enjoying the chilled Dalgona coffee.
